Posted by Commander Purplez(OD) on Mon Sep 04, 2023 12:16 AM Public News Reduction in Ranks Several changes have been discussed for quite some time which include reducing the number of ranks. Beginning September 17, 2023, all enlisted members will still be automatically promoted until the rank of Staff Sgt. is achieved. From then on, in order to "rank up", any member who expresses an interest in advancing up the community will be able to skip all remaining Enlisted ranks and jump straight to Warrant Officer ranks. In this way we hope to reduce some of the large volume of ranks members have to climb in order to advance in OD. This set-rank will follow these guidelines: 1. Must be at least Staff Sergeant rank 2. Expressed an interest in supporting the community 3. Has done something in support of the community Members who already have ranks above Staff Sgt. will retain their current ranks, but can still skip any remaining Enlisted ranks in the same way. Casual gamers who have no interest in moving up the ranks can still just game and talk on Discord every 2 weeks, and don't need to worry about ranks at all. Further, MelodicRose and JD have shortened the multi page Guide to Everything to a "Mini" Guide and a channel has been created on Discord entitled, gamers-guide-to-od.
